Janwillem Wiefkers graduated from the University of Delft, Netherlands with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering in 1990. He has over 15 years of business experience in the Caribbean.
He joined his father’s business as Managing Director for the Safe Company, NV. In his first year, he developed and wrote a leading monitoring software application for it’s Alarm Systems products. First to market with it’s products providing the business with substantial monthly recurring revenue. As Managing Director he drove Research and Development, AR’s and AP’s, trained a group of installation technicians, and coached and led it’s sales staff. During those years, he visited with 98% of the businesses on the Island.
Under his leadership, profits rose from $80,000 to $500,000 annually across an 8 year time period. In 2000, he developed a new monitoring software for it’s Alarm Systems products. This software included features such as alarm messages sent directly to pagers and emails. Competition at the time did not offer this to their clients. These features became a major selling point as customers provided positive feedback and appreciation. Rather than competing for the Market Space, ADT made The Company an offer in 2000 which was accepted.
Experienced with technical Know-how and business acumen Janwillem became self employed and is a highly sought after technical consultant not only in Sint Maarten but also in the surrounding Caribbean Islands. He was a strategic partner with the late Romeo Chance of Network IDL. Together, they installed a wireless digital camera system for the Sint Maarten Harbor. This solution allowed the Harbor to comply with the newly established requirements set by International Harbor Security Regulations.
Furthermore, he has developed several dynamic database driven websites.
The Caribbean has seen a rapid growth in Construction and Development over the last several years. Looking at what is needed in the market-place Janwillem has identified some major opportunities alongside with David Stoffel.
